Meditation & Dharma Talk:
Earth Day 🌏 and Interdependence
with Venerable Jampa Thachoe
Wednesday, April 22nd
7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
In honor of Earth Day, we’ll explore the Buddhist teaching of interdependence—the understanding that all beings are deeply connected. Through guided meditation and a Dharma talk, this session invites us to reflect on how we can extend mindfulness and compassion to ourselves and others, to honor the one planet we all live on.
Bio
Venerable Jampa Thakchoe, a returning guest teacher, is a Tibetan monk from Sera Jey Monastery and a current Tenzin Gyatso Science Scholar at Emory University.
With more than 18 years of traditional Buddhist training, he has completed extensive studies in Buddhist philosophy—including Madhyamika (Middle Way), Paramita (Perfection of Wisdom), and monastic debate—and also holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from India.
His work bridges traditional Buddhist philosophy with modern scientific research, including collaborations with the Emory-Tibet Science Initiative, University of Groningen, and University of Wisconsin. Jampa-la’s teachings illuminate the intersection of Dharma wisdom and contemplative science.

Open Hearts, Busy Lives:
Cultivating Love and Compassion
Wednesday, May 6th
7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
We are honored to welcome the nuns from Sravasti Abbey in Washington State, who are visiting as part of the 13th Annual Georgia Buddhist Overnight Camp. Their presence brings a spirit of dedication, humility, and joy to our community.
During this special evening, the nuns will offer a talk on cultivating love and compassion amid our busy, modern lives—sharing practical wisdom drawn from years of monastic training and service.
Their teaching will be inspired in part by the book The Key of Compassion: Finding Meaning Where You Least Expect It, which explores how we can open our hearts even in challenging times. The session will include reflections on the book’s themes, along with guidance on applying compassion in everyday relationships, work, and inner life.
This is a wonderful opportunity to learn directly from experienced practitioners and to deepen your understanding of compassion as a living, active practice.

Weekly Sunday Vietnamese Service
Vietnamese Chanting | 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Vegetarian Lunch | 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM
Each Sunday, we gather in the peaceful halls of Quang Minh Temple to nourish both body and spirit. Through Vietnamese chanting, we create positive vibrations that ripple through our sacred space, cleansing the mind, calming the heart, and grounding us in the present moment.
This is more than just a service—it’s a connection.
In the midst of our busy, ever-changing modern world—samsara—a consistent spiritual practice helps us anchor ourselves in peace, clarity, and purpose. It reminds us we’re not alone in our efforts to live with compassion and mindfulness. When we gather as a sangha, we are supported by one another on the path to liberation. The community we build is one of the Three Jewels (Triple Gem 💎 💎💎) of Buddhism, alongside the Buddha and the Dharma. Whether you’re a longtime practitioner or new to chanting, your presence adds to the collective energy of healing and harmony. Come chant, connect, and share a nourishing meal with us. We’d love to welcome you into our circle of peace. 🙏
