We’re excited to host two monthly sessions open to everyone—whether you’re new to Buddhism or have prior experience. These sessions, conducted in English, will typically take place on a Wednesday evening (7:30 PM–9:00 PM) and a Sunday afternoon (2:00 PM–3:00 PM) each month. We hope you’ll join us!

Our events are open to the public and free, but donations are always appreciated to help support our community offerings. If you’d like to contribute, you can donate via Zelle: chuaqminh@gmail.com or through PayPal, Venmo or credit card.

Meditation for World Peace in Grant Park

With Phra Ajarn Maha Dam Phommasan and local venerable monastics.

Join your community to meditate for world peace in the beautiful Grant Park. In Buddhist practice, peace begins within—through non-violence, loving-kindness, and mindfulness. The calm and compassion we cultivate in our hearts ripple outward to our families, communities, and the wider world.

This gathering is inspired by a beautiful tradition in Thailand, where school children across the country sit together in meditation for peace—young minds choosing silence and young hearts choosing calm. Their example reminds us that even a few minutes of shared stillness can create powerful positive energy.

We are honored to have Phra Ajarn Maha Dam Phommasan, abbot of Wat Lao Buddha Khanti in Snellville, join us. He recently participated in the Walk for Peace, a multi-state pilgrimage where monks walked about 2,300 miles to raise awareness for peace, compassion, and mindfulness. Local venerable monastics from temples across Georgia will join the cause to add to the collective blessing of the gathering.

Schedule
• 9:00–9:30 AM — Arrival
• 9:30–10:00 AM — Karaniya Metta Sutta (Pali) & Meditation
• 10:00–10:30 AM — Walking Meditation
• 11:00 AM — Lunch offerings for monastics & volunteers
• 11:30 AM onward — Community conversation
(subject to change, weather permitting)

Everyone is welcome—families, children, and people of all ages. Stay as long as you like, bring a mat, have a picnic, and spend time connecting with the community and monastics.

Free and open to all. Donations welcome and appreciated to: Wat Lao Buddha Khanti

Compassion Meditation with Chaplain Letesa Isler
Sunday, March 22nd
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Topic: My Personal Lessons in Compassion

Earlier this month, we gathered around the sacred Sand Mandala with Avalokiteśvara—the Bodhisattva of Compassion—at its center. Its beauty reminded us that compassion is both delicate and powerful.

In this follow-up session, Chaplain Letesa offers a grounded, compassionate space to reflect on how these teachings meet our real lives. Drawing from personal and complex stories, she will invite us to:

  • Reflect on the Sand Mandala’s teachings on impermanence and interdependence

  • Explore Avalokiteśvara as the embodiment of boundless compassion

  • Practice guided compassion meditation

  • Consider how compassion meets real-world suffering

  • Integrate these insights into daily life

All are welcome. No experience needed.
Free; donations appreciated.

Weekly Sunday Vietnamese Service
Vietnamese Chanting
| 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Vegetarian Lunch | 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM

Each Sunday, we gather in the peaceful halls of Quang Minh Temple to nourish both body and spirit. Through Vietnamese chanting, we create positive vibrations that ripple through our sacred space, cleansing the mind, calming the heart, and grounding us in the present moment.

This is more than just a service—it’s a connection.

In the midst of our busy, ever-changing modern world—samsara—a consistent spiritual practice helps us anchor ourselves in peace, clarity, and purpose. It reminds us we’re not alone in our efforts to live with compassion and mindfulness. When we gather as a sangha, we are supported by one another on the path to liberation. The community we build is one of the Three Jewels (Triple Gem 💎 💎💎) of Buddhism, alongside the Buddha and the Dharma. Whether you’re a longtime practitioner or new to chanting, your presence adds to the collective energy of healing and harmony. Come chant, connect, and share a nourishing meal with us. We’d love to welcome you into our circle of peace. 🙏
